Our Predictions on Marketing Trends 2019
As we come to the end of 2018, marketers are looking ahead to see what’s just around the corner in 2019. We’ve put together our predictions for the top marketing trends of 2019, so your business can be prepared for the changes that could happen.
As digital technologies develop their capabilities, businesses are becoming more savvy at how to use them and it becomes even more challenging for brands to grab their target audience’s attention.
1. Facebook Won’t Be the Most Popular Social Media Platform
While Facebook is still the most popular social media platform, with more than 100 billion active users, Mark Zuckerberg has not had a very good 2018.
Is the relationship between Facebook and the public changing? The social media giant has been in the firing line pretty much all year, from the Cambridge Analytica to allowing companies access to privileged user data. Will users start to lose trust in Facebook?
We think the mostly likely contender to take Facebook’s crown is Instagram. If speculations prove to be true, Facebook’s mess won’t be cleared up any time soon.

2. Influencer Marketing Will Explode
According to Forbes, businesses will be taking more risks when they are selecting the influencers they want to partner with – instead of choosing the “safe” options, brands will select more controversial influencers, who tend to have greater engagement rates.
A study conducted by Linqia found that marketers plan on increasing their influencer marketing budget by 30%. Brands are beginning to look more into long-term, meaningful partnerships with influencers instead of the occasional paid promotion.

3. The Use of Chatbots Will Increase
More and more brands are recognising the unmissable benefits of using chatbots to handle customer service, book appointments and help consumers get answers to their questions.
Chatbots enable consumers to get instant, personalised interactions without the need for around-the-clock human resources. In fact, 67% of companies believe chatbots will outperform apps within the next 5 years.
